Be The Change Influencers is a community committed to leveraging online influence for good.

Last year, many of us joined together to support Share Our Strength’s Dine Out for No Kid Hungry. Over 1,000 people spread the word, posting over 10,000 tweets about the campaign in just one week. Those 1,000 contributors helped Share Our Strength and the restaurant industry increase donations by 108%, raising 1.5 million dollars to help end childhood hunger in the United States.

I started this network so we can join together to do more stuff like that.

These days the power of online influence is a hot topic. We’re becoming less interested in a person’s net worth and more interested in the trust they’ve built in their network.  Many of you are measuring influence by counting your twitter followers, collecting Foursquare mayorships, and touting your Klout scores.

My question to you is this – how are you using your digital influence to make meaningful change in the real world?

Are you an influencer?  Are you online? Do you have a passion for making a difference? Then regardless of how many Facebook friendss or Twitter followers you have – we want your voice.  This community will make you aware of opportunities where we can join together and use our collective influence to make meaningful change.Be The Change Logo

So join the revolution – and let’s go change the world.

  1. Amanda – I can’t believe that I missed not only your birthday – but the launch of this amazing site and movement. I have tears in my eyes and love in my heart for you and for this community. We are all more powerful than we know – and there are millions of kids in this country and around the world who need us to use our voices to end childhood hunger, and give them the chance to learn and thrive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart – Share Our Strength has always been about finding the ways that each individual can contribute – you have created a platform that thousands will be able to use. Belated Happy Birthday – you are more beautiful than ever – inside and outside. Much love and admiration, Joni

Thank you so much Joni for this comment. You are such a leader and role model to me and you inspire me to make meaning. Can’t wait to see you in June if not before then.

  3. What a pleasure it was to meet you at #ungeeked in Chicago last week!

No, I am not an influencer. Yet. But I hope to be. My cause of choice is helping kids who aren’t succeeding at school because of reading problems. I happen to have a gift for solving those problems, and I am using it online. Hopefully, I am making a difference.

If at any time you would be willing to throw your considerable leadership and quest for social good in my direction, I’d be thrilled to have you!

In the meantime, I want to help YOU with whatever you have going at the time. Right now, it seems to be #endchildhoodhunger #nokidhungry

    You got it! :D
